The best news is that the healthcare field is always growing with secure job opportunities due to an aging baby boomer population and Americans experiencing an improved quality of life, which means we need qualified healthcare professionals.

Some of the more popular job titles include:

Cardiovascular Technologist

Dental Hygenist

Ultrasound Tech

Medical Assistant

Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Phlebotomist

Surgical Technologist

Step Two: The Resume

When creating your resume make sure you:

  • Craft a healthcare-specific resume objective- your resume must speak to what the job description is asking and confidently shows the specific skills that the hiring manager is looking for.
  • Detail your healthcare education- when listing your education, make sure you list your certifications and licenses earned and include the title, certifying body, license/ certification number, date received, and the expiration date if applicable.
  • Show evidence- Communicate your healthcare skills, experience, and commitment to quality.

Step Three: Your Job Search

Before starting your job hunt, make sure you have some form of hands-on experience with key skills as well as any formal education/ training required in the field. Then, make sure you craft a resume that clearly shows your experience and education. Make sure you broaden your search from the typical healthcare institutions like a hospital or ambulatory surgery center to include mobile medical units or healthcare-specific nonprofits.
